Beautifully Imperfect

What can I say. Family + Friends + Better Halves + Love + Comedy + Tragedy + Life + Death...

This is imperfection at its finest.

This goes out to my crazy family, even crazier friends, and Angelo (I will miss your snores the most).

Thank you ALL for being so beautifully imperfect...

Moody Dating Machine...Any Takers? LOL

I took this online personality test, as suggested by a friend. The grammatical errors are making me twitch haha but all in all it still makes sense. Here are my results:

Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Beautiful Chaos

I was ecstatic when my boxes arrived on Tuesday. But after going through the beautiful junk I've accumulated for 6 months in the States, I knew it was going to be a lot of work fitting all of it in my boudoir. Here's a glimpse into my shopper's remorse nightmare...and this is just one side of the room...ayayayay....

Who am I kidding; I so do not regret buying any of it. I'm just lazy, is all. Don't fret, I have a plan though. I'll have everything in order very soon. I hope.

A Serenade

You breathe out and I breathe in...

I ache...

I miss the sound of your voice

the loudest thing in my head...

Believe...

Hold on...

Everything works in your arms.

Happy 4th, baby.

Always & always...

Tick Tock Goes The Marrying Clock

Saw this on my cousin Phimie's site. You tick the boxes and add them all up in the end. The sum you get is supposedly your optimum age to get hitched. I think it's just a bunch of bull lol, but let's give it a try anyway. Looks like fun. :)

[/] I know how to make a cup of coffee. I know how to make myself a cup of coffee. But somehow I almost always screw up everybody else's. I get 1/2 a point for that, I guess.
[x] I keep track of dates using a calendar. Calendar on the wall, planner, post-its -- you name it.
[ ] I own more than one credit card.
[ ] I know how to change the oil in my car/bike. Erm, I know how to go to the shop and ask for an oil change, but I don't think that counts.
[/] I do my own laundry. Only when I travel.
[x] I vote every election. Local and national elections ever since I turned 18.
[x] I can cook for myself.
[ ] I think politics is exciting. As exciting as, well, politicians. So, no.
[ ] I balance my checkbook.
[ ] My parents have better things to say than my friends.
[/] I show up for school/college/work everyday early. Generally, I do, but I don't really need to report to work right now, so that gets 1/2 a point, too.
[x] I always carry a pen in my pocket/purse. Pen, pad, house -- it's all in there.
[/] I've never gotten a detention. This is tricky because detention doesn't really exist in these parts. Sure, they call your attention, ask you to stay after school, have your parents come in the next day, but there's just no name for it around here. That just makes you "trouble."
[ ] I have never smoked a cigarette.
[ ] I have never gotten completely trashed.
[ ] I have forgotten my own birthday at least once.
[x] I like to take walks by myself.
[x] I've watched talk shows.
[x] I know what 'credibility' means without looking it up.
[x] I drink coffee at least once a week.
[x] I know how to do the dishes.
[x] I can count 1 to 10 in another language.
[/] When I say I'm going to do something I do it.
[x] My parents trust me. They better!
[ ] I can mow the lawn. For the right price, I can.
[x] I can make adults laugh without being stupid.
[ ] I remember to water the plants. Mother Nature does that for me.
[x] I study when I have to.
[/] I pay attention at school/college. No one ever does 100% of the time.
[ ] I remember to feed my pets. Mother Nature does that for me.
[x] I can spell 'experience' without looking it up
[ ] I work out on a regular basis.
[/] I clean up my own mess. Most of the time, I do.
[ ] The people at Gloria Jeans know me by name. Coffee Bean, thanks!
[/] My favorite kind of food is takeout. I like it, but it's not my favorite. I like home-cooked just as much.
[x] I have gained weight since middle/high school. Too bad I could only tick this once.
[ ] The first thing I do when I wake up is get caffeine.
[/] I can't go out of the store without getting something I don't need. Guilty.
[ ] I understand political jokes the first time they are said. I'm not even gonna try.
[x] I can type quickly. Too bad I could only tick this once.
[ ] I have realized that the weather forecast changes every hour. I just look out the window; I never really think about it.
[ ] My only friends are from my place of employment.
[x] I have been to a Tupperware party. Tupperware, paper, foil, Saran -- yep.
[/] I have realized that no one will take you seriously unless you are over the age of 25 and have a job. Sometimes, I believe this.
[/] I have more bills than I can pay. I'll live.
[x] Most of my friends are older than I am. Oh, yeah.
[/] I can say no to staying out all night. I can say yes, too.
[x] I use the internet every day. Pretty much everyday, yep.
[ ]My wardrobe hasn't changed for a while. I'm a serial shopper. My wardrobe expands everyday.
[x] I can read a book and actually finish it.

That means, my marrying age is...26. OK, this is bull. lol

Project Runaway

No, of course I'm not running away from home. What am I, 12? I'm simply trying to make my time count. Seeing that I don't have a job to deal with right now, I thought I could continue working on this project I got going; an adversaria, if you will (because it's not quite a book yet). "Frizzy's writing a book?!?" you ask? You betcha.

I'll skip the whole what's-it-all-about part for now. I started writing it exactly 1 year ago. I call it 21 Songs (it still could very well be 22, but we'll just have to wait and see) and it is the longest piece of fiction I've written thus far. Will it ever be published? I highly doubt it. But IF it does, you'll be the first to know, Void. I promise.

Slow Start

I expected my first weeks of the new year to be busy, but that's just not the case. Instead, I've been doing a whole lot of nothing. Tonight, I'm going out of the house for the first time in like 3 days. My girl friends and I are going to have a dinner/DVD night -- nothing really new from what I've been up to this week.

The truth is, things have not been going as planned. My whole work situation is reduced back to paper, which really blows. I feel tired all the time without even getting out of bed. My birthday's in a month and I'm just so not in the mood to be old-er right now. I'm in a rut, obviously. A temporary one, at least I hope it is.

I think I need some sound advice [or a good kick in the butt] right about now. So, let me ask you this -- how do you manage to stay positive or motivated when things around you are in disarray?

So This Is Christmas...

There are like 18 more days (pardon my math) until Christmas, but somehow I think I'm still so unprepared for it -- mentally, financially, SPIRITUALLY.

I'm a mess. A beautiful one nonetheless -- ha ha. Add crazy to the list while we're at it.

I start work for a big telecommunications company on Monday. People are actually filing for vacation leaves and I am just getting my work-groove on. God knows I need the money, but it would be nice to drive north and spend Christmas eve with my brother and the rest of the Soriano clan who, I just found out, are all set for the 5-hour road trip.

I've been shopping all week, all month. Everywhere I go, I end up spending a wad of cash (and a lot of credit) for gift items and personal splurges. But after checking off my list, I realize I still need to get a few more things; for my Godson, one of my bestest friends who's going back to Toronto right after Christmas, one of the maids, and...I know I'm forgetting one more. Crap.

My mom just had minor eye surgery -- if it's even considered that -- this afternoon. The doctor said it wouldn't take more than a minute to administer the injection (yep, straight through the eye ball. Yeowza!), but she must've been in the operating room for two whole hours. Then it took more than an hour for her to recover from all the stuff they put in her eye. 125K for one simple procedure. The next session is in Feb, so we have a couple of months to prepare for THAT one. But, wow, that much money for a 0.5 mL injection (plus incidentals)...

Merry Christmas, yeah?

AWOLLotOfExplainingToDo

I've been gone too long, I know. Hence, the lack of postage action on my blog. I apologize to all my readers -- the few of you that exist -- and I apologize to myself for neglecting the site the past few days. Time will reveal what I've been up to lately; some of them are good and some are, well, not that exciting. But hey, such is life, yeah?

Tomorrow is a new day. And now, I'm back for good.

Welcome To Cuckooville

Morbidity is a sick, albeit forgivable, pastime. The 24th was my late Grandfather's birthday, which only makes it worse, I guess. Not to mention, tombstone ideas was a topic over at BlogCatalog; I thought what the hell, I'd share mine with you all on here, too. I am, however, open to cremation as well. In case anyone was wondering -- which I seriously think is not the case. But here you go anyway...

Vodka and Champagne Don't Mix

I swore off tequila shots and Goldschläger forever. And after last night, I thought I'd update my alocohol sh*t list by adding vodka to it. Never really liked the stuff. I still can't believe I had so much of it last night.

I haven't been buzzed like that in years. I thought I was fine until I threw up in a champagne ice bucket at Embassy Cuisine. Then again by the tree right outside. Then AGAIN when I got home at 4 in the morning. I even had to ask a friend to bring the car home for me. I hitched a ride with another friend (I love you Chyn!!!) instead. Oh me oh my. No vodka for me anytime soon, that's for sure.

My friend Giselle got even more plastered. Almost 12 hours later she's still throwing up, the poor thing. I feel like we're in college all over again. We're just getting too old for this. Last time I talked to her, she swore off alcohol altogether. For the umpteenth time. Ha ha

A shout out to all the people who "took care" of things last night at Embassy (err, this morning rather): Wan & Doggy, Chyn, Myks, Arux & Cholo -- you guys are my ambassadors of love!

Hey, it's a Saturday! See you all again tonight!

Hits And Misses

Yesterday was the first day I wasn't able to post on here. Even when I'm on the road or a trip abroad, I always find time to post. I guess the last couple of days have just been really mad.

Today, I just wanted to welcome my boyfriend to the crazy world of blogging. He's had his blog up for a while now, but never really given it any attention until recently. Just when I neglect my computer, he turns to his and finds comfort in blogging.

Tomorrow, my girlfriends and I are checking in at a hotel. It's a surprise bridal shower for one of the girls actually (I'm confident enough to mention it in here because I know she doesn't really read my blog). Should be fun. One of them is even flying in from L.A. -- I can't wait to get hammered.

SemptemBRRR

The ber months are upon us; Christmas is just around the corner and people from these parts can definitely feel (hear?) it. Christmas jingles playing on TV and the radio, cold late afternoons well into dawn. Time certainly flies, doesn't it.

Every September, I start to get a few things in order: Christmas shopping lists of things I've lusted after since the beginning of the year, a list of people to give gifts to (it's smart to get presents by installment so you don't feel so poor come crunch time), and follow some kind of diet or exercise regimen -- at least up until Christmas day when it all goes down the drain anyway.

It's undeniable that I'm excited about the holidays, but I can't help it if I'm a little glum, too. It'll be the first Christmas without my grandfather and it's going to sting, no doubt about that. It's going to be one crazy roller coaster ride alright.

40 Days

We are celebrating my grandfather's 40th day since he passed. It's been a Filipino tradition to commemorate the passing of loved ones on the 40th day. I never really questioned the significance of the number 40. I've been to quite a few of them, for both friends and relatives who've passed on. It's always a big party somewhere -- at least that's what it felt like.

The story behind 40th day celebrations is quite meaningful actually. The Pastor we invited to preside over the service tonight made really good points about this revered tradition. He reminded us that in the Bible, there are quite a few passages that involved "40 days" of something -- Noah and his ark endured 40 days and 40 nights of fierce rain and floods; Moses was up in the mountain, conversing with God, for 40 days; Jesus transcends over Satan's temptations in the desert for 40 days; he also ascended into heaven on the 40th day after he resurrected from the dead. Basically, 40 days depicted a really long time. Often, it's not even about the length of time anymore; it's about the gravity of the sufferings these Biblical personas had to endure in their time. Completing the cycle, if you will. Temptation, confusion, natural disaster, wavering faith, uncertainty, fear -- to experience these things in a day can be scarring. Just imagine carrying these burdens for more than a day.

My grandfather passed away after a long and fruitful life here on Earth. Our family has mourned for his passing. 40 days later, we remember his strength, his spirit, and his legacies. The worst is over, as some would say. His journey is now complete. This is a new chapter in our lives and I know my grandfather would want us to embark on this new journey with even more faith, more love, and more hope.

Everyone will always feel pain and experience hardships in life. We will always go through such trying times, but we are never truly alone. God loves us too much to leave us in our sufferings. There, too, will be time for peace. And today, peace is with my grandfather.

In His Time of Passing

My grandfather Rafael S. Soriano peacefully joined our Creator at the age of 77 on the 7th month of '07.

His children, children-in-law Rellie, May, Ed & Fely, Fritzie & Greg; grandchildren Frizzy, G-3, Gail, Kristel, JJ & Recs; sister Anita and brother Peddie request relatives and friends to join them in prayers for his eternal happiness in heaven. His remains lie in state at Chapel D of the La Funenaria Paz in Quezon City.

I'll be making wake and interment arrangements, so I won't be posting in the next couple of days. Until then...

Frizzy Gets Fired!

I know it's only Tuesday, but I really can't wait for it to be the weekend already. Fire up the cannon and see how many points you can get. It's a good way to release that premature tension building in your neck there...and you get to see me fall on my ass a few times, which can be very entertaining I hear. Oh, and a big thanks to TechCrunch and MyGame for this.

First Frenchkys Poll

I'm really happy with the turnout of my little poll widget so far; didn't expect anyone to actually cast their votes. So to those of you who participated, I think you are all equally hot as I am. LOL

I'm keeping the current poll question for a few more days, give everyone a chance to REALIZE I am the hottest of them all. Indulge my Disney fantasies, why don't you, and vote already!!! Do watch out for future polls I'll be hosting. Don't worry, I won't include myself in the choices every time. I'm not THAT Narcissistic. :P

Thanks for the love!
